Why did I go into art?
Well, I didn't pick art, it picked me:)
And to be honest, it's watching others create that gives me more joy than creating myself.
I was not a good student in school, for many reasons, but Art, was my savior and carried me a long long way.
Art really made me feel good about myself, especially when I was struggling and it still does.
School was not my favorite place but Art class was, so I kept going just for that.
I received my BFA in ART from Cal State Long Beach, CA in 1986
and my California ART teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona, CA in 1987.
Over the last 38 years...
I have taught Art to students of all ages in the public school system for
pre-school, homeschool, elementary, junior and senior high school, adult school, senior citizens as well as the physically and developmentally disabled, if I was asked to teach a class, I said YES because Art is that important.
In 2007 I opened a successful children's art studio in the village of Claremont, CA.
It was so much FUN!!!
It was great to have so many wonderful students and my own children there as well.
After 15 years...
I decided to retire in 2021 and sold my studio to one of my AMAZING past students who got her BA in Art Education!
I now live in San Diego where I create art and create art lessons, it's SO FUN!
On this website I hope to share as much as I can about Art because it's so WONDERFUL!!!
I'm crazy about kids, animals, art, gardening but, MOST OF ALL my beautiful family!
I've been married to my best friend, Steve for 38 years!
We have two AMAZING adult children, and they are both married to AMAZING people!
